So how did Kristina start a lip balm company? It all started while searching for an organic lip balm free of addictive chemicals. She tried brand after brand but never felt satisfied; the moisture & smoothness she craved just weren't there. Then she had her "AHA" moment. Her friend who visits Morocco often, gave her a bottle of 100% pure argan oil. Last winter, she started putting it on her hands & lips during the dry months. She couldn’t believe how moisturizing the oil was & thought it would make for the perfect lip balm. It was then she knew she had a game changer on her hands.
Before revealing Moroccan Magic to the masses, Kristina wanted the formula to be perfect. She spent over six months testing & tweaking flavors & organic ingredients to get it just right. Her friends & family offered valuable feedback & when she felt confident, moved forward with the first production run.
She is also the founder of Boston Business Women's networking group, planning networking & educational events for Boston women. Kristina will launch the first Innovation Conference 'For Women, By Women' on May 9, 2016 with keynote speaker Arianna Huffington. Interested in attending? Tickets are now available! You can buy them here. You can also join their private Facebook page here.
Next spring, Kristina will publish her first book, Busy Girls Guide to Happiness; her cliff notes to happiness. When asked about her book, Kristina said, "With this book, I hope to take the stigma off of self-help for women & make it more approachable, fun & even sexy!"

As you know, I always ask my 'It Girls' what their one piece of advice is for women trying to start their own brand. According to Kristina, "Success is all about action & execution. Don’t sit on your idea forever or get stuck in the idea/start-up phase. One action step per week, just one, can move you quickly towards your goal. It is okay to learn as you go. Just surround yourself with mentors in the field you are entering & most importantly, believe in yourself. You have to know yourself very well as an entrepreneur. Get comfortable with your strengths & weaknesses and bring on people who fill in the gaps. The entrepreneurs who think they can do it all on their own, are often the ones who fail."
